What is Dumpster Diver the musical about?
Dumpster Diver the musical tells the story of friendship,
adventure and dumpster diving. Essentially, it tells the
story of two friends, Faith, a free spirit, nomadic, dumpster
diver, and Trevor, who believes in playing by the rules.
They graduate college, head their separate ways, and re-meet
years later.
At this point, Faith is with the Dumpster Liberation Front
(DLF), a kind of surrogate family, and Trevor is a successful
software engineer at well known, yet highly controversial
technology firm Angelwire.
When Faith confronts Trevor with the truth about Angelwire
(that the company has evil intentions), Trevor dismisses her
allegations as jealousy and conspiracy theory.
He decides to verify her story to prove her wrong. In doing so,
he finds out that she's telling the truth.
Now, Trevor has a decision to make: Continue working at his
well-paying job even though he knows the company is evil and
hurting people, or steal the company file, join Faith and the
DLF, and expose the company for what it is, putting himself at
great risk for the greater good.
What would you do? At some point, you might have to make a
similar decision. Would you keep the comfortable career in
spite of your conscience, or leave it behind to make a difference?
Currently, I'm looking for a stage/venue for this musical. It's
2-hours long, has 17 songs with lyrics, 5 instrumental songs, and
requires a cast of 10 people, with 2 main actors. I'm willing to
travel and sleep in the theatre to get it produced. I have a good
feeling about this musical. If you do, too, and want to volunteer,
offer ideas, or just want to talk, call or e-mail me.
